What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses sterile microneedles to create thousands of controlled micro-perforations in the skin. These micro-lesions activate the body's natural repair mechanisms, triggering a biological response responsible for the formation of new collagen, elastin, and other essential components of the extracellular matrix.
The treatment does not remove layers of skin or alter facial volume. Its main objective is to progressively improve skin quality by stimulating its own regenerative capacity.
How do they work?
Microneedling stimulates skin regeneration through a controlled process that activates natural mechanisms of collagen repair and remodeling.

Stimulates collagen production
Activates the skin's reparative response, stimulating fibroblasts and the formation of new collagen.

Promotes skin renewal.
It promotes skin renewal and tissue reorganization, contributing to a more uniform texture.

It reshapes the skin's structure.
The formation and reorganization of collagen progressively improves scars, enlarged pores, and fine lines.
Why is needle depth important?
One of the most common misconceptions is that the deeper the needles are inserted, the better the results will be. In reality, this is not always the case.
Each area of the face has a different thickness and requires a specific depth. Using depths greater than necessary does not necessarily increase collagen production and may unnecessarily prolong recovery time.
For this reason, the depth should always be adjusted according to the area being treated, the thickness of the skin, and the clinical objective.

What can be treated?

Acne scars
It helps remodel atrophic scars and progressively improve skin texture.

Enlarged pores
Improves texture and makes the appearance of pores less visible.

Fine lines
Stimulates collagen in areas with early signs of aging.

Irregular texture
Promotes a more uniform and even skin surface.

Dark spots and uneven tone
It can help even out superficial pigmentation irregularities and skin tone.

Loss of firmness
It stimulates collagen production, helping to improve skin firmness and quality.

What happens after the session?
01

First 24–48 hours
Redness, a sensation of heat, and mild sensitivity may occur, depending on the intensity of the treatment.
02

First days
The redness gradually subsides, and slight peeling may occur as the skin begins the renewal process.
03

Following weeks
Collagen production and remodeling develop gradually, with progressive improvement in skin texture and quality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Discomfort depends on the depth used and the area treated. When necessary, a topical anesthetic can be applied to increase comfort during the procedure.
There is no single number of treatments that works for all patients. The protocol depends on the clinical indication, the initial condition of the skin, and the goals defined during the consultation.
Yes, provided that direct sun exposure can be avoided in the days following treatment and that sunscreen is used daily, even during indirect exposure. If intense sun exposure is anticipated, it may be advisable to postpone the procedure.
Discomfort is usually minimal. Very fine needles are used and the procedure only takes a few minutes.
No. When correctly indicated and performed, the goal is precisely to stimulate dermal regeneration and improve skin quality, not to make it thinner.
Yes. Depending on the clinical assessment, it can be integrated into combined protocols with PRP, i-PRF, polynucleotides, skinboosters, biostimulators, or other technologies to enhance results and address the specific needs of each patient.
